Kenanga
Kenanga (Cananga odorata) is the name for a type of flowers and trees that produce it. There are two forms ylang, namely macrophylla, commonly known as kenanga, and genuina, known as the Philippines or ylang ylang-ylang. In addition, it is still well known shrub kenanga (Cananga odorata fruticosa), which is widely planted as an ornament on the home page.
Cananga odorata fa. macrophylla grew quickly to more than 5 meters per year and could reach an average height of 12 meters. Kenanga tree trunk is straight, with hard wood and is suitable for soundproofing material (acoustic). Requires full sun or partial, and prefer soil that has the acid content in its original habitat in the rainforest. The leaves are long, smooth and shiny. The flowers are yellowish green (there is also a shade of dice, but rarely), menggelung like a starfish shape, and contain oil essences, Cananga oil is fragrant.
Ylang-ylang is also a tree, but not as high as usual kenanga tree. Kenanga perdu are usually planted in the yard, can only grow at least three feet high. Kenanga is a native plant common in Indonesia and ylang-ylang Philippine native plants. Kenanga is also commonly grown in Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. In Indonesia, kenanga flowers occupy many roles in special ceremonies such as the marriage ceremony.
