Bungong Jeumpa

Cempaka wangi (Magnolia champaca syn. Michelia champaca) is a large perennialgreen tree that flowers white or yellow is widely known as a source of perfume. Plants fromthe Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia is also useful timber and also function as an ornamental garden. Seeds are encased by a salute like bird seed. Cempakafragrance is a floral identity for the province of Aceh, and there known as Bungong Jeumpa.

The name "cempaka" borrowed from Sanskrit. The names in various languages in India alsohave names alike, such as champac, sonchaaphaa (सोन चाफ़ा), or sampangi. There are a variety of botanical origin of Southeast Asia named M. champaca var.pubinervia (Blume) Figlar et Noot.

Cempaka fragrance can be propagated by grafting or by growing seeds. The results ofcrosses with M. Montana produces white or cempaka magnolia.
